The mattress was saggy, but the verandas were lovely for reading.

Just a decent option for a lightning trip in Avalon with outstanding value for money. The fresh donuts from the local bakery during breakfast were a nice touch. Make sure to lock your windows for extra peace of mind.

missingWrote a review on Nov 14victorian charmthird-floor verandanearby supermarketnoisy neighbors
Charming Victorian aesthetic throughout the building creates a genuine historic vibe that you won't find in modern hotels. The third-floor veranda offers a nice spot to unwind with views of the surroundings, and nearby Vons provides quick access to any grab-and-go snacks you might need.
The hotel sits atop a steep hill, making the hike especially unwelcome when hauling luggage—anyone with mobility issues should think twice. The lack of air conditioning and elevators can be uncomfortable during warm days, and the lack of modern amenities like a decent breakfast spread means you'll likely need to seek food elsewhere. Noisy neighbors can disrupt sleep, especially if you end up near the front where street traffic can be heard. Small, dated bathroom facilities also leave much to be desired.

Couple’s cozy getaway
The hotel had this warm, homey vibe just like you feel in a family gathering. Plus, every morning we enjoyed fresh coffee and the best donuts you can possibly imagine.
It wasn't exactly cheap but acceptable for what we got.

Great spot for a group vacation! We had such a blast exploring the nearby beach and checking out the local shops. The charm of the place is undeniable. The shared patios made it nice to hang out. Rooms are comfy and the location's perfect for walking everywhere.
The service could have been a bit more welcoming. A couple of times, we walked in and weren’t greeted, which felt off for a boutique vibe.

great location but small bathroom
The staff was friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The bed was very comfortable, allowing for restful nights after long days of exploring.
Be aware the bathroom was very small, with limited room to move.

Staying here was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the cozy One-Bedroom Cottage with its inviting decor and delightful mini-fridge. The beautiful garden area was perfect for winding down after a day of exploring, while I took advantage of mornings with coffee and pastries. The only downside was the limited electrical outlets, but it didn’t overshadow my overall enjoyment. 😊

The location is fantastic, with a charming front porch that offers stunning views and a unique vibe. However, the family cottage was uncomfortably cramped for four, and I encountered safety issues like an exposed outlet and poorly maintained facilities. The WiFi—when it worked—was unreliable, and the breakfast options were limited to stale pastries. While the setting is attractive, the overall experience fell short of expectations.

Charming Stay in a Historic Hotel!
I had a lovely experience staying in a quaint cottage that perfectly encapsulates the charm of Avalon’s history. The location is fantastic, just a short stroll to everything you need, and the shared outdoor patio was a nice touch for morning coffee. The beds were comfy, and the cozy atmosphere made for a relaxing retreat. However, I did find that the service could be a bit warmer and more engaging.
